AC Shadows Introduces Unexpected AoT Collaboration for Thanksgiving
In a surprising partnership that defies conventional predictions, Ubisoft has revealed an in-game partnership between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the renowned anime series Attack on Titan. The surprising Thanksgiving event operates from November 25 through December 22, offering complimentary extra story content for Shadows players.
Strange Questline Revealed
According to the official release, "A mysterious confrontation leads characters Naoe and Yasuke into a fresh adventure, where whispers of prohibited rituals and fearsome metamorphoses echo through the darkness." The plot presents a "oddly dressed woman named Ada" who charges the pair with traveling into the Crystal Cave—a key location from Attack on Titan—to save her ally from a secret cult.
The mission focuses on "peculiar experiments and a monstrous adversary" and is available to all players who have unlocked the Yasuke character.
Iconic Settings and Transformations
The teaser showcases the Hidden Temple from Attack on Titan redesigned as the Crystal Cave. This important location was previously where the Reiss royal family passed down the Founding Titan ability through generations. The preview concludes with a dramatic moment showing a character, probably the prisoner, transforming into a Titan that towers over Naoe and Yasuke.
Unique Prizes and Bonus Content
Players who finish the quest will obtain an unique katana alongside multiple items concealed throughout the area in secret chests. The update also includes premium Attack on Titan item packs, including:
- Titan-inspired costume for Yasuke
- Mikasa outfit for Naoe
- Unique implements
- Survey Corps mount
Latest Free Story Addition
This update also brings the game's latest free story addition, titled "The Mystery." This playful quest teams Naoe and Yasuke as they trade characteristic techniques: Naoe debuts a theatrical version of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke learns non-fatal stealth takedowns. True to its name, "The Mystery" also includes a fresh environmental puzzle that may eventually clarify some unanswered questions from the main storyline.
Earlier Japanese Animation Partnerships
This signifies scarcely the primary time the Assassin's Creed franchise has crossed over with popular anime franchises. The series formerly included a 2020 collaborative story uniting Assassin's Creed: Valhalla with Makoto Yukimura's Vinland Saga.
